Built an engaged and sales-ready audience for a large, international conference by creating and executing the promotion strategy for the event, using not least social media and the press. Check out details and samples below.
“Absolutely delighted with his level of service.”Szilvia Szabo, RPD International
The concept was simple: An international design and tech event featuring top designers and engineers from areas as diverse as rocket science and furniture manufacturing, all itching to further the industry through conversation and idea exchange.
However, despite it being an attractive concept, RPD Intl. and their Danish collaborators needed promotion of the event in order to increase ticket sales and broaden the awareness – and they wished to do so, in particular, through social media and the Danish press.
Collaborating with my associate at the time, I formulated a strategy for the approach and, over a period of around three weeks, executed the tactics of it.
The work saw me involved in a host of activities on a daily basis, such as the setup and management of Twitter and Facebook accounts, engagement of the press and bloggers, interviewing key industry actors for content creation, and press coordination and live tweeting during the event itself.
While the conference as a whole turned out to be a huge success, my own work in particular helped secure strong engagement from a quickly growing audience. For example, referral traffic from social accounted for around 33% of the registered website sessions and related ticket sales.
